Do I need to send in Documents?

Because we here at Plates for Cars are a DVLA Registered Number Plate Supplier, it is a legal requirement to request documents that prove your identity and that you are authorised to use the Registration Number.

We cannot in any circumstance dispatch any Number Plates until these documents have been received.

You can send us your Documents after purchase by emailing them to:

Documents to confirm your identity (ONLY ONE)

  • Driving License
  • Utility or Council Tax Bill

Documents to confirm ownership of the registration (ONLY ONE)

  • Vehicle Registration Certificate (V5C)
  • New Keeper Supplement (V5C/2 or V750)
  • Retention Document (V778)
  • Renewal Reminder for Tax or SORN (V11)
Can I Cancel my Order?

Once your have placed your order you have 30 minutes to cancel. If you try to Cancel your Order after this time, it will not be refunded.

This is because we produce our Number Plates quickly and as it will contain your registration, which is bespoke to you, it cannot be offered for resale.

Please only place your orders if your are sure you wish to receive them.

Should a Cracked Number Plate be Replaced?

It is important to keep in mind that it is illegal to drive without having a clearly visible Number Plate in the United Kingdom. For this reason, if your UK Number Plate is cracked, it may impact visibility, and you may be stopped by the police because of it.
Are Gel based UK Number Plates illegal?

Many people love Gel Plates because they impart a more modern and stylish appearance. Fortunately, so long as the plates align with the regulations and visibility requirements detailed in the Motor Car Act, you can use gel-style plates legally.
